  Totally disgusted at the service at the Marquess of Exeter in Lyddington. Had to cancel a second night stay due to personal reasons, was charged at an inflated rate above the rate agreed even though i cancelled at 7.30am where most hotels allow you to cancel up to 2pm on the day. I called later that afternoon and the room had gone and they were fully booked anyway so they got double the fee!; worse still is the manager who did not wish to listen to me but was just obsessed about charging my credit card, he is rude and obnoxious ! -. Staff do not smile, the place is understaffed, spent an eternity at the bar waiting for a drink. The morning i left my business colleague was charged £13 to join me for breakfast !!! The accommodation is basically a sweat shop!!!
  
  Do yourself a favour and go to the Old White Hart 100 yards down the road. The Manageress is lovely, all the staff are happy allied to great service, Oh and the accommodation is fantastic and spacious!
  
  Businesses lead from the top and that tells you everything when you have a manager like the one at the Marquess of Exeter - Shame on you !! - Disgusted

  Very quaint pub that serves good pub grub. Ambience is nice, awesome fireplace with good selection of lagers and ales.

  Excellent food and a good pint of bitter in a nice friendly pub. Dining room for those who prefer and nice well maintained rooms for overnighters. Try the flat iron steak it is ace
